I’m off to Seattle this morning. The young church planting phenom, Jeremy Schweyer and I are helping a friend of his drive a moving van across the country to his new home in Seattle. Those of you raved semper reformanda readers are well aware that a personal hero of mine planted a church in Seattle a few years back. So the plan is that we’ll drive across the country and roll into Seattle later this week and spend the weekend there. We’ll attend all the services at Mars Hill, hear the Word, worship Jesus and learn from the way they do everything from set up to children’s ministry…and both Jeremy and I can’t wait to see the body guards who stand up front. Maybe I’ll get to shake Mark Driscoll’s hand? What a thrill…I wonder what would happen if I did get to shake his hand and I got slain in the Spirit? I wonder if the body guards also serve as “catchers”.
Anyway...all I had to do is pay for my food and a ticket home (we'll fly home). So I'm basically hitching a ride across the country like some weird Driscoll groupie or something...yikes...
I’ll be blogging throughout the week so stick around…

Have fun Gary.. be safe. Seems like "traveling" and "moving" are dominant themes in my life right now, too. My wife's in the New Mexico desert this week with a Church group doing mission work on a Navajo reservation... in the mean time, we're moving into a new apartment (lease starts July 1, but since we paid early he's letting us move our stuff in over the rest of this month with no extra charge), and getting it blessed by the priest this Sunday after Liturgy.
Oh, btw, I'm really sorry I didn't make it on the 21st-- I bet it was a blast. My dad came into town and took me to see "Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keilor at the Blossom Music Center, for my birthday. I would like to come see all the progress though, sometime. Let me know when you get back or something.
hey zac!
good to hear from you! and yes...I totally understand about this past weekend, no big deal at all! you guys MUST come over sometime soon...you won't recognize the place I don't believe!
sounds like I'm not the only one going through some transitions! in that sense I'm sure we both agree that "semper reformanda" is an appropriate personal sentiment!
Haha yeah good point... Welcome home!
